Even though My Hero Academia manga is on an indefinite hiatus due to Mangaka Kohei Horikoshi’s health reasons, the fan-favorite storyline is still flourishing on other platforms. This is considering the news about the seventh season of its anime scheduled for May 2024 and of Netflix reportedly in development of a live-action project for the same.

Though, while the ongoing former is absolutely thriving among fans, the upcoming latter might not be able to leave the same stunning impression on fans, judging from how it would have to give up one key feature for the live-action: its colorful aesthetic. And considering the hype among fans for the manga, they won’t tolerate any mishap with it: be it in an anime version or a live-action one.

Out of all the reasons why fans have been so deeply in love with My Hero Academia, one major reason was because of the brilliantly colorful aesthetic it brought about. This unique and fascinating look made audiences all the more intrigued by it.
Considering how the anime was created closely connected to the source material in the comics, it perfectly captured this feature to the core and brought an even more refreshing look to the anime than was possible.
From the sky ever so blue almost always to the perfectly colorful features of the characters, the anime earned all the more approval from fans. However, the same won’t be the case with a live-action remake, as Netflix is planning.
Since the real world is… well, the real world, and it doesn’t hold the same aesthetic colors as were immaculately shown in the anime, this just might end up proving as a massive problem to the creators of the live-action.
Moreover, judging from how deeply attached and captivated this colorful aspect of the anime has proved to get fans, looking at the same characters in a different and comparatively less highlighted environment won’t be all too pleasing to the audiences.
Thus, if Netflix truly plans to earn some big bucks by making the live-action version successful of My Hero Academia, it will have to focus on this one feature and make up for it somehow to get fans as enchanted by it as they were with One Piece live-action.

Some Other Features That Might Make The Live-Action Even Less Charming
My Hero Academia
While the colorful aesthetic portrayed in the anime not being able to make its way into the live-action version poses a serious problem, that isn’t the only obstacle that Netflix will have to overcome to make the real-time version of My Hero Academia successful.
Some other features that might make the live-action even less charming include the fact that it probably won’t be able to include the massive cast that the manga and anime boast about. Then there is the longevity of the storyline which would need to be condensed, which would inevitably lead to quite a few parts getting eliminated.
Then there are all the fantastic fights that the anime perfectly portrayed, but the live-action might not be able to do with the same level of fantasy. And considering how its fights are somewhat similar to Dragon Ball‘s, Netflix will have to go overboard to actually get the proper fight sequence outcome that fans want to see unless they wish to get as bad reviews as Dragon Ball‘s live-action.
Because of all these reasons, there is a high probability that the My Hero Academia live-action version by Netflix just might not be able to enchant fans the same way as the anime.
However, if Netflix indeed succeeds in eliminating all these challenges, then nothing could stop the real-time project from becoming one of the best live-action versions ever!
