Masashi Kishimoto is known for giving his characters some edge, be it character designs or god-tier jutsu. From Nagato to Rock Lee, the series has some of the coolest characters with broken abilities. However, nothing beats the original, especially when it comes to this power-up.

It is a known fact by now that Naruto no longer has Kurama sealed within him. But die-hard fans know the truth and it only makes sense for the Hokage to get a power-up in the future battle. This theory proves why his next upgrade would be formidable for his enemies, so lets find out.
Naruto’s next god-tier power-up is insane on every level
There’s one thing that makes Naruto a top-tier shonen series and that is the power system. The series has some of the coolest and broken jutsu. From healing to offense, Kishimoto gave his ninja a diverse range of abilities through kekkei-genkai, kekkei-tota and kekkei-mora.
Kekkei Genkai is one of them where each clan has their unique bloodline ability. With Uchihas and Hyugas it is their dojutsu Sharingan and Byakugan respectively. But the bloodline jutsu aren’t limited to merely ocular prowess, and we have barely scratched the surface with this one.

Other than Dojutsu, nature release is something that is often overlooked by fans. Yes, Sharingan and Byakugan is cool, but nothing beats Scorch Release and Boil Release. The series had some rare ones too, especially with Haku’s Ice kekkei-genkai. It is a shame it ended with him but fret not.
The original series showed us one of the OP abilities that was reintroduced in Shippuden. To say the least, it is so powerful it almost messed up the powerscaling and proved potent against the enemies. Truly, Naruto’s fluency in this style would be nothing short of legendary as this theory suggests.

In Boruto, Naruto loses Kurama when he exhausts the beast’s chakra during the fight with Momoshiki. This, however, is not the end considering his chakra prowess and Hashirama’s cells implanted in his right arm. It only seems valid for him to awaken Wood Release in future arcs.
The kekkei-genkai fused with his Sage Mode would be a lethal combination against Otsutsukis and the God Trees. For now, he is sealed away by Kawaki in another dimension. This doesn’t mark his end in any case as Kishimoto might give us an ultimate showdown between the characters.
The ultimate showdown in Masashi Kishimoto’s series
Masashi Kishimoto took epic to a whole new level in Momoshiki’s fight with Naruto and Sasuke. With the wood release power-up, it would mark an ultimate showdown between the Hokage and the Otsutsuki. This also ties in well with the knucklehead’s chakra control as well as his restraining ability.
Let’s not forget the kekkei-genkai’s true abilities and its potential. From absorbing chakra to restraining tailed beasts, Wood Release is a goated ability in itself. With Naruto mastering it, he might even surpass Hashirama in terms of his God status and here’s why.

This has to do with his Sage Mode and his Uzumaki lineage. The life-force, healing and chakra reserves are what give him an upper hand over Otsutsuki. With God Trees and Claw Grimes running amuck, the battle would be nothing short of intense and legendary.

As of now, Naruto is sealed away along with Hinata, but he isn’t dead which means that his comeback is certain. And while it isn’t confirmed, one thing is for sure and that is that his return would be iconic nonetheless.
