The first episode of One Punch Man Season 3 is just around the corner, and fans are excited to see Saitama showcasing his strength against the monsters. The story has been loved for a long time, and many believe that One Punch Man might be one of the greatest anime and manga series in the world. But not many people know who the real creator of the series is.
The name of One Punch Man’s creator is ONE, and he is not only known for Saitama’s story, but also for other major projects like Mob Psycho 100. His journey is quite inspiring, as he fell in love with the Japanese art form and then went on to create stories that helped him become one of the biggest names within the manga industry.
From Manga Fan to Legend: ONE’s Inspiring Journey to Greatness
There is no doubt that One Punch Man is one of the best comedy action manga and anime series in the industry, and it all started with a vision from ONE, also known as Tomohiro. ONE was born on October 29, 1986, in Niigata, the northern part of Niigata Prefecture, and grew up in Saitama, the largest city of Saitama Prefecture, Japan. His love for manga started when his parents bought him a manga called Crayon Shin-chan by Yoshito Usui.

His love for the art form motivated him to become a manga artist, but what’s special about him is that he didn’t follow the traditional method. Instead of working with a publisher, ONE decided to self-publish his manga online, which allowed him to be free of all the norms and regulations that more or less limit the creativity of manga artists. He started uploading One Punch Man to his FC2 blog in 2009, and it became extremely popular, especially in Japan.
While working on One Punch Man, ONE would take hiatuses and take on full-time jobs, until Yusuke Murata took interest in his work. The two eventually collaborated and worked on a bunch of different projects, including One Punch Man, and it reached a point where One Punch Man became one of the biggest manga names, thus earning it an anime adaptation. From there on, ONE worked on quite a few different works that earned him world recognition.
Every Major Creation of One Punch Man’s Mangaka
While One Punch Man is indeed his first creation, following its success, ONE worked on quite a few different manga stories with other publishers. The first manga series that he worked on after One Punch Man was Angry Warriors with Murata for Shueisha. Along with Angry Warriors, their collaboration also led to the creation of Bullet Angel Fan Club and Makai no Ossan, which came out in 2012.
After that, One Punch Man received a digital manga remake for Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website, and ONE shifted his focus to Mob Psycho 100, which is his biggest work after One Punch Man. The series ran from 2012 to 2017 and even got an iconic anime adaptation. Following that, he worked on other works like Monster of Earth, Cockroaches Buster, and Reigen.
His latest works are Versus and Bug Ego, which came out in the early 2020s. Almost every manga that ONE has worked on is a major hit and has a lot of viewers. But what fans are most concerned about is One Punch Man, which has been going on for more than a decade. When do you think ONE will complete One Punch Man? Let us know below!
