After the series’ immense critical acclaim and its big win at the Anime Awards, few would have expected Solo Leveling Season 3 not to have a release date yet. But not only does the season not have a release window, it also hasn’t been confirmed. Though the South Korean series may not have to search for plot elements to continue, the show’s next season may still not arrive anytime soon.
When is Solo Leveling Season 3’s expected release date?
As per statements from one of the producers behind the anime series, Solo Leveling Season 3 is not getting a release date anytime soon. Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi said that he was desperate for a third season but would first like to give the animation team some “breathing room.”
During a FYC Emmys Q&A, Furuhashi said, “Between [the first two seasons] 220,000 frames of animation were created. And of course, I’d love to give the animators a little breathing room,…So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics [in 2028] to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3.”
This seems to indicate that Solo Leveling Season 3 could still be several years away. Perhaps it will get a 2028 release date.
Who could be in Solo Leveling Season 3’s cast?
As Solo Leveling Season 3 will be a direct continuation of the story, it will most likely feature the same cast as the past two seasons. Taito Ban should return as Sung Jinwoo. Reina Ueda as Hae-in, Haruna Mikawa as Jin-ah, and Rikiya Koyama as Sung Il-Hwan should also return.
What story could be told in Solo Leveling Season 3’s plot?
The second season of Solo Leveling ended with Jinwoo defeating the Ant King and saving the day. However, the finale also featured two mysterious creatures taking down a team on Jeju Island. The third season will likely dive into the backstory of these two creatures. It will also feature the Ahjin Guild arc (Chapters 111–122).
After this, the season could explore the Double Dungeon, Japan Crisis, and International Guild Conference arcs. This will ensure that viewers get to see more action with Jinwoo.
