The Dragon Sage Mode theory might reposition Mitsuki as a God-tier threat in the world of Naruto and Boruto. Boruto has Kama, and Sarada has already awakened her Mangeyo Sharingan, but Mitsuki’s Sage Mode is different since it taps directly into nature’s energy. It has already been proven that Sage Mode is a dangerous power, especially when coupled with Sage Transformation.

Kabuto was seen using the traditional Snake Sage Mode, but the Dragon Sage Mode transformation could boost Mitsuki to heights that have never been achieved. This power-up could give him unique abilities like chakra manipulation, serpent-based constructs, and even high-speed regeneration. Orochimaru was the creator of Mitsuki, which means that it is entirely possible that he was built to house of withstand mythical power without any physical drawbacks that other shinobi might suffer from. It could even allow him to adapt to the fighting style of any opponent in real time.

Dragon Sage Mode is inspired by the non-canonical Genryu in Naruto

Now, Dragons do not actually exist in the Naruto world. However, they did appear in the Naruto Shippūden: Dragon Blade Chronicles game. The game featured Genryu, five legendary dragons who each represent five elemental powers: earth, water, fire, wind, and lightning. It is non-canonical, but the essence of it remains.

Thus, what would separate Dragon Sage Mode from all other Sage Modes is Mitsuki’s usage of raw elemental powers. He could either use them individually or fuse them as raw agents of nature. According to the lore in the game, once all five Genryu merge together, they form Light Genryu, an extremely powerful dragon that can even destroy the world.

Similarly, Mitsuki’s Dragon Sage Mode could achieve something similar by using a fusion of powers. He could thus achieve a power that is beyond the comprehension of anyone in Boruto. Mitsuki’s calculated genius will give it even more of an edge.

Boruto might have alien power, and Sarada has her Uchiha heritage, but Mitsuki’s calm and strategic mind, combined with Sage-level strength, would make him a wildcard. If this theory becomes a reality, then Mitsuki would never have to catch up to the rest. Instead, he can leave everyone miles behind him.
